You may run into issues in the future - plenty of people found out the hard way when cloudflare started using 1.1.1.1 as a public DNS server. But even at about $65 per year, Mullvad is quite moderately priced for a VPN service. Just as a head up, you absolutely dont need to use 1.2.3.4 and I would strongly suggest you dont, given thats a 'real' IP address. Alas, there are no discounts if you pay for more than one month at once. I use the WireGuard kernel module and can’t connect. Here’s why we use and recommend WireGuard.

MULLVAD WIREGUARD UPDATE
Since the update to TOS 5.0 this is no longer the case. This was an admittedly hacky workaround until TOS 4.0.5. I discovered that opening a terminal and pinging a site via any device on the network would keep the connection alive. Unfortunately, a lot of VPN providers who support IPv6 often only provide ULA IPv6 addresses. NAT66 is the piece you need to have IPv6 traffic go through Wireguard in this way, across all your LAN clients. This would require either a reboot of the Omnia or to change the Mullvad server in the wireguard interface in order to connect to the Internet again. If you deploy Wireguard on a router, it doesnt work, because only the router will have IPv6 access through Mullvad Wireguard not your LAN. I have an Omnia device and route my network traffic through Mullvad VPN via wireguard and the connection drops multiple times a day, oftentimes every 3-5 minutes.
